Manager of Pre-Construction Services / Construction Estimator

Summary:
The Manager of Preconstruction Services (PCS)/Construction Estimator guides all aspects of project development from initial conceptual stages up until the beginning of construction. This includes working closely with JMC team members and design professionals to keep project development schedules on track, creatively and efficiently modifying those schedules to achieve project and JMC goals, and communicating progress with all stakeholders. The Manager of PCS is the JMC estimator, creating initial conceptual estimates and also collecting, organizing, and presenting all of the information in final project budget proposals.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in a construction-related field
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience working on and managing construction projects
  • Must have a solid understanding of the construction industry, job site safety requirements, planning & scheduling, construction materials, building trades & sequence of work, financial management, and relevant technology
  • Key competencies are leadership, initiative, communication, teamwork, managing for results, and coaching & mentoring
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools, and equipment required for various construction practices
  • Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
  • Attend all required trainings and company meetings
  • Ability to meet all capabilities, duties, responsibilities and work conditions as described in the Job Description

Summary:
This position reports to the carpentry team leader and works under the direct supervision of the Superintendent. The JMC Master Carpenter is the ‘frame to finish’ expert, using appropriate means and methods of residential construction. They manage the JMC carpentry team for the JMC Superintendent and assist with administrative duties. The Master Carpenter follows all standard safety regulations while completing tasks.
