This newly remodeled hilltop farmhouse is a true slice of paradise perched above the Green River, featuring amazing views of Mt Greylock, the highest mountain in Massachusetts. The meandering driveway travels through a beautifully manicured apple orchard on a lush hillside rising up from the river valley. Originally planned as a full renovation of the interior with only a few small areas of new siding, the demo revealed deteriorated insulation and entirely-absent exterior sheathing, which led to new sheathing and replacement of all insulation and siding.

Spacious rooms with strategic window placement capture all the views. The kitchen overlooks a natural stone terraced patio with full floor-to-ceiling doors featuring large glass panels which maximize natural light, create a seamless indoor-outdoor flow and make the space feel significantly larger. The great room and music studio highlights vaulted ceilings and cherry-wrapped trusses with visible steel rod-and-turnbuckles in the ceiling and 8-foot tall, 16-foot wide sliding doors which capture an expansive view of the Berkshire-Taconic mountain range. Exterior blue tones and simple, well-defined roof lines on this home are complemented by the expansive sky and surrounding landscape.

“We really enjoyed working with JMC and are so amazed at the work you do and the kindness and patience of your people. We love Joel and Niko and Scott and Kevin and hope you convey to them how lucky we felt to have them lovingly restore our home. We miss them.”
